What You Should Know About the 2025 Ford Explorer Lineup

New Ford Explorer Inventory

The 2025 Explorer is available in four trim levels: Active, ST-Line, ST, and Platinum. Each trim is unique, but they’re all equipped with a family-friendly interior and impressive standard features. 

Bolder Exterior Styling 

With a bolder appearance and stance, the new Explorer is even more of a head-turner. The front end features a larger grille, sleeker all-LED headlamps, a front skid plate, and lower, wider air curtains that take the vehicle’s visual center of gravity lower. Explorer trim levels are equipped with the following exterior features: 

• The 2025 Ford Explorer Active has a saw-tooth design, including a black mesh grille with chrome bars
• The 2025 Ford Explorer ST-Line has a honeycomb gloss black grille with a black mesh insert
• The 2025 Ford Explorer ST also has a honeycomb gloss black grille with a black mesh insert, but it adds ST badging
• The 2025 Ford Explorer Platinum has its own wing design with a satin chrome and ebony grille

Elevated Cabin Comfort 

The interior of the 2025 Explorer is more comfortable than ever thanks to new premium upholstery materials, available multi-contour seats, and wrap-and-stitch soft-touch surfaces on the center console, dash, and door panels. Comfort is taken up a notch with heated front seats.

You can choose your interior color scheme, but standard interior motifs for each 2025 Explorer trim level are below:

2024 Ford Explorer Active

• Ultra Dark Space Gray instrument panel, door panels, and console with Harvest Bronze accent stitching
• Dark Gray soft-touch seats with Black Onyx inserts and Harvest Bronze accent stitching 

 2024 Ford Explorer ST line & ST

• Black Onyx instrument panel, door panels, and console with red accent stitching
• Black Onyx ActiveX® seats with cloth or Miko suede inserts and red accent stitching

2024 Ford Explorer Platinum

• Mojave Dusk leather instrument panel, door panels, and console with matched accent stitching
• Mojave Dusk leather seats with matched accent stitching

Ford Digital Experience 

The new Explorer is equipped with high-tech features that deliver a customizable driving experience. This Explorer is the first Ford to include the new Ford Digital Experience infotainment system. The Ford Digital Experience includes:

• 13.2-inch LCD touchscreen with Google Maps integration
• 12.3-inch digital driver information cluster
• 5G connectivity

• Wireless phone-charging pad in the front seat

When you choose the ST-Line, ST, or Platinum models, you’ll enjoy Ford BlueCruise hands-free highway driving, which allows for hands-free driving on over 130,000 miles of highway across North America.

Powerful Engine Options

The 2025 Explorer comes with the option of two powerful engines: a turbocharged 2.3L I-4 EcoBoost engine (standard in the Active, Platinum, and ST-Line) and a twin-turbocharged 3.0L V6 EcoBoost (standard in the ST and an available upgrade on the Platinum model). The 2.3L engine delivers 300 horsepower while the 3.0L V6 provides 400 horsepower. Each Explorer comes standard with the Class III Trailer Tow Package, giving each model a maximum towing capacity of 5,000 lbs.
