This is why Ford trucks are the best-selling in America, attracting drivers who want unrivaled capability in a truck that is dependable and built to last.

What’s more, Ford gives you the versatility in the F-250, letting you choose the options to configure your truck in the way that will serve you best. It is this understanding that provides you with the ability to choose a Ford F-250 that is ideal for work, personal use, or a little of both.

Let’s take a closer look at what to expect from this popular Ford workhorse.

An Exceptional Selection of Powerful Engines

Like most vehicles, the key to any truck is its engine. This is what powers your truck, giving you the performance you need to tow trailers, carry cargo, and get your toughest jobs done right. However, each driver has different needs, which is why Ford offers you four different powertrain options on the 2025 F-250.

Most models of the F-250 feature a 6.8-liter V8 gas engine. This powerful engine features port fuel injection and has two valves per cylinder. It can deliver up to 405 hp and 445 lb-ft of torque. Like all other engine options on the 2025 Ford F-250, this engine comes paired with a 10-speed automatic transmission.

The second engine option is a larger 7.3-liter V8 gas engine. Nicknamed “Godzilla,” this engine won’t destroy Tokyo, but it will deliver the power and performance you desire in a heavy-duty truck. This also features port fuel injection and has two valves per cylinder. However, it will provide you with more output, a total of 430 hp and 485 lb-ft of torque.

You also get two diesel engine options on the 2025 F-250. The first is a 6.7-liter Power Stroke turbo-diesel V8. This has four valves per cylinder and uses direct fuel injection to provide up to 475 hp and 1,050 lb-ft of torque. This is an astounding amount of torque for a heavy-duty truck.

If you think that is impressive, then you are going to be blown away by the High Output version of this same engine. While it’s also a 6.7-liter, Ford has improved the output to deliver an astounding 500 hp and 1,200 lb-ft of torque. That is the greatest amount of torque produced by any heavy-duty truck in the Ford F-250’s vehicle class.

Outstanding Towing and Hauling Capabilities

A big reason why so many drivers choose a heavy-duty truck model is to tow large trailers and to carry heavy payloads. In this regard, the 2025 Ford F-250 does not disappoint. In fact, it is one of the industry leaders, giving you the capability you need, whether you are using your truck to tow trailers for work or boats and campers for your recreational time.

If you choose an F-250 with the 6.8-liter V8, you can tow up to 14,800 lbs. While this is impressive, it is easily surpassed by equipping your F-250 with the Godzilla 7.3-liter V8. This will boost towing capacity to 17,200 lbs. Nevertheless, while this is impressive for the King of Monsters, it doesn’t compare to your capability if you opt for a turbo-diesel engine on your truck.

Choosing one of the two diesel engine options on your truck will help you maximize trailering capability on the F-250. If you opt for the standard 6.7-liter Power Stroke engine, you can tow up to 22,900 pounds, while getting one with the High Output version increases this to an insane 23,000 lbs. This is the one to choose to tow your heaviest trailers.

The F-250 is also built to carry heavy payloads. Here, the 7.3-liter V8 gives you the greatest capability, with the ability to carry up to 4,246 lbs in your payload bed. If you stay with the smaller 6.8-liter V8, you will still be able to carry up to 4,240 lbs. While the two Power Stroke turbo-diesels excel at towing, they will provide slightly less capability when it comes to carrying cargo. The F-250 with the standard Power Stroke diesel can help you carry up to 4,048 lbs in your bed, while the truck with the High Output version can haul 3,918 lbs.

Plenty of Options and Configurations

Ford offers the 2025 F-250 with five different trim levels to choose from. The base model is the XL, and there are also the XLT, Lariat, King Ranch, and Platinum. Each gives you an increasing level of comfort and convenience features, so you can find one that has the features you want at a price point that works best for you.

You also get to choose other features on the F-250, as well as the trim level and engine. For example, the truck also comes with a choice of cab styles. The Regular Cab has one row of seats and is perfect for commercial purposes. The Crew Cab has two rows of seats, and is the roomiest available cab on the F-250. You can also opt for a SuperCab with two rows of seats, but a little less legroom in the back than a Crew Cab. This allows you to carry up to five passengers without compromising too much on your truck’s towing capability.

The F-250 also comes with a choice of 4×4 and 4×2 systems, as well as two different payload bed sizes. The standard 6.8-ft bed has room for up to 65.4 cu.ft. of cargo, while the 8.2-ft long bed can fit 78.5 cu.ft. Ford offers some great features to improve the usefulness of your truck’s payload bed. 2kW Pro Power Onboard gives you a set of power outlets in the payload box, allowing you to use your truck as a power source at a job site or when you go camping. The available Power Tailgate with Retractable Step makes loading and unloading your F-250 safer and easier, by providing extra assistance with entry and exit, all at the push of a button.

Stay Connected and Entertained Wherever You Go in Your F-250

Wherever you go in your 2025 Ford F-250, you will be able to stay in touch with your friends and family. This is because the F-250 features Ford’s SYNC 4 infotainment system on each truck. This intuitive system allows you to connect your smartphones and access your favorite features using its LCD Capacitive Touchscreen. You can just swipe to find the feature you want right on the screen.

While some models have an eight-inch screen, the higher trim levels offer a 12-inch screen on the system. All you have to do is connect your phone using Apple CarPlay or Android Auto and you are ready to make hands-free calls and texts safely and easily. You can even stream your favorite music over the SYNC 4’s built-in sound system by accessing the music apps on your phone. You can even opt for a premium sound system by Bang & Olufsen on many of the upper-level trims.
